A motion was made by Commissioner Doherty, seconded by Commissioner Geppert
that the project filed under GP-79-7 be approved.
Resolution No. 1722 was then entered recommending approval to City Council.
Roll Call Vote
Ayes: Commissioners Doherty,
Noes: Commissioner Wilson
Absent: None
Abstain: None
Geppert, Getty and Chairman Jamieson
Chairman Jamieson stated he wanted the Mackay General Plan Amendment for
6.6 acre site heard in June, 1979.
PUD-79-1, Centex Homes
Application of Centex Homes for a Planned Unit Development for a 116 unit,
single-family detached residential complex to be located on a 32.4 acre site
located between the Pleasanton School upper play field and Mirador Drive
and immediately southerly of the residences bordering Angela Street. The
site is presently zoned A (Agricultural) District. A negative declaration
of environmental impacts will also be considered.
Mr. Harris stated the applicant has requested this matter be continued to
8:00 P.M. April 11, 1979 in order to better prepare their proposal. As no
one objected, this item was continued until that time.
PUD-78-1, Longview
Application of L & H Land Company for approval of a hillside planned
development consisting of a 10-lot, single-family residential subdivision
located on a 50-acre site northwesterly of the existing terminus of Long-
view Drive. The site is zoned HPD (Hillside Planned Development) District.
An Environmental Impact Report (EIR) was also considered.
Mr. Harris explained that this was continued from the last Planning Com-
mission meeting with concurrence of the applicant to allow the staff and
Commission to consider the information submitted by the applicant at
that meeting. Mr. Harris stated that the material furnished by Gilbert
Maines, the applicant's attorney, was sent to Moore and Tabor, EIR con-
sultants for examination and determination as to whether that information
caused them to change their opinion regarding slope stability and the
existence of a block slide on the site. He .stated the .report came back
from Moore & Tabor that there was nothing in the Gribaldo et al report
that would make them change their opinion. Mr. Harris stated that the
staff feels all information should be reviewed by another geological
consultant. This person could be appointed by the geologists who prepared
the previous reports. He asked that if the Planning Commission chooses to
recommend approval, they do so conditioned upon the four conditions in the
staff report.
Commissioner Doherty again expressed concern with regard to fire hazards.
Joe Hill, Fire Chief, addressed fire protection, summarizing his recom~
mendation stating this development raises serious concerns.
