Commissioner Wilson then made a motion which was seconded by Commissioner <br />Getty that the following properties be considered as High Density <br />Residential and that general plan amendments be initiated: <br />8.8 on the west side of Valley Plaza Shopping Center <br />8-10 acres on the south side of Bernal Avenue extension <br />between Sunol Boulevard and the WPRR tracks <br />7-10 acres on Stoneridge Drive and/or Hopyard Road <br />frontage. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br />Ayes: Commissioners Leppert, Getty, Jamieson and Wilson <br />Noes: Chairperson Doherty. <br />Resolution T1o's. 1817, 1818 and 1819 were then entered and adopted for <br />each of the three properties listed. <br />Commission Geppert stated that sometime ago Pleasanton Planning Com- <br />mission was approached by the Livermore Planning Commission for the <br />purpose of a joint meeting. Commissioner Geppert asked the progress <br />of this matter. Chairperson Doherty reported there has been no <br />progress toward this end to date. <br />Chairperson Doherty stated that the traffic at the intersection of <br />Mohr and Santa Rita Road is terrible when coming from Mohr Avenue as <br />the visibility onto Santa Rita is hampered with vehicles parlced on the <br />northwest and southwest corners. I3e stated many people living in the <br />apartments park on the street right up to the corners and when you <br />pull up to the white line you can't see anything because of these <br />parked cars. He stated he wants 'no parking' signs from the corner <br />on both the southwest and northwest sides of the intersection for <br />at least 75-100 ft. He asked that the staff bring information <br />back to the next Planning Commission meeting. <br />OLD BUSINESS - Public Hearings <br />None. <br />NEW BUSINESS - Public Hearings <br />A ter a call of hands and roll call vote of the Commission, it was <br />decided to bring item 9(a), application of John Caroline to the top <br />of the agenda. <br />TENTATIVE SUBDIVISION MAPS <br />Application of John Caroline for consideration of the subdivision of a <br />69 acre site located south of Valley Avenue and immediately easterly <br />of the residences along Kolln Street into 49 lots for future "industrial <br />park" development. <br />John Caroline, 4487 Pleasanton Avenue, the owner of this property spoke. <br />He stated he will be requesting Planned Unit Development (PUD) for the <br />property. He further stated they have reviewed other such developments <br />at Oakmead, Sunnyvale and across the street from Marriotts. He stated <br />the tentative map is not being considered at tonights meeting because <br />the EIR is not ready. He stated his development is not taking access <br />-2- <br />
