Mr. Fournier stated that his hours of operation would be 8:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. Monday through Friday. Commissioner Getty stated she is unclear as to where the trash is to be put. Discussion then ensued between Mr. Harris, Commissioners Getty, Geppert and Jamieson concerning the location of the dumpsters and damaged vehicles. Commissioner Jamieson stated that in past years they had an applicant storing 8-12 vehicles on a public street outside of the building half repaired and he would like to see only a finished vehicle parked outside. Chairperson Doherty stated he would like to see a tenth condition added to the staff report "That the applicant will have no painted-on window sign on the building and that any sign put up with regard to this use must be in accordance with an overall signing program for the building." Commissioner Jamieson made the comment that if there is no ordinance against window signs how can they be controlled. Chairperson Doherty stated he believed the policy was geared to 'special sales' window signs and not for permanent advertising of businesses. Mr. Harris stated it is difficult to split the 'special sales' signs from others. A motion was made by Commissioner Jamieson, seconded by Commissioner Geppert that UP-79-23 be approved subject to the conditions of the staff report plus the additional condition concerning window signs (as stated above) because all required findings could be made to grant this use permit. ROLL CALL VOTE Ayes: Commissioners Geppert, Getty, Jamieson, Wilson and Chairperson Doherty Noes: None Resolution No. 1826 was then entered and adopted. GP-79-20, City of Pleasanton Application of the City Council to amend the Land Use and Growth Manage- ment Elements of the General Plan to eliminate the General Plan policies relating to the Urbanization Line which designates the limits of urbani- zation of the City for the period up to 1996. A negative declaration was also considered. Mr. Harris explained the staff report. Commissioner Wilson stated he would like to hear a report of the Planning Commissioners when they met with City Council concerning this matter. Commissioner Jamieson stated that three out of the five Commissioners were present at the meetings and that the Commission's endorsement is contained in the staff report of November 14, 1979. Commissioner Geppert reviewed the meetings attended by he, Commissioner Getty and Commissioner Jamieson. -10-
