A motion was made by Commissioner Doherty, seconded by Commissioner <br />Getty that case UP-80-17 be approved because all findings required <br />could be made and this approval be subject to all of the conditions <br />of the staff report, report of Alameda County Health Department and that <br />a time limit of six months be set to review this application. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br />Ayes: Commissioners Doherty, Getty, Jamieson, Lindsey and <br />Chairperson Wilson <br />Noes: None <br />Absent: None <br />Resolution No. 1895 was entered and adopted approving case UP-80-17. <br />RZ-80-8, City of Pleasanton <br />Application of the Planning Commission of the City of Pleasanton to <br />amend Section 2-7.08(a), Article 8, Chapter 2, Title II of the Ordinance <br />Code of the City of Pleasanton to conditionally allow hardware stores in <br />the C-N (Neighborhood Commercial) District. <br />The public hearing was opened. <br />W. Kovak, 3124 Weymouth Court, spoke supporting this application. He <br />stated he is convinced that as long as there is no outside storage <br />this would be a proper use for neighborhood commercial centers. <br />The public hearing was closed. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Doherty, seconded by Commissioner <br />Jamieson that RZ-80-8 be recommended for approval. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br />Ayes: Commissioners Doherty, Jamieson and Lindsey <br />Noes: Commission Getty and Chairperson Wilson <br />Absent: None <br />Resolution No. 1896 was then entered and adopted recommending approval <br />of case RZ-80-8. -----. <br />PUD-80-7, Dennan Construction Co. ~~ - <br />Application of Dennan Construction Company to rezone from the R-1-6500 <br />(Single-Family Residential) District to the PUD (Planned Unit Development) <br />District a 4.4 acre site located on the east side of Fairlands Drive <br />immediately north of West Las Positas Boulevard. This application also <br />includes a request for development plan approval for a 35-unit condo- <br />minium complex proposed to be built at this location. A negative <br />declaration of environmental impacts was also considered. <br />Mr. Harris explained the staff report and that Mr. Oakes is not asking <br />for anything exceptional as he did in his previous application and that <br />the staff's main concern is the: lack of passive solar in this project. <br />Mr. Harris stated it is Mr. Oakes contention that to take advantage of <br />passive solar the buildings would have to be facing in such a way as <br />to create a barrack-type appearance. <br />-8- <br /> <br />
