A motion was made by Commissioner Lindsey, seconded by Commissioner Getty <br />that the negative declaration prepared for case GP-80-3 be recommended <br />for approval as there are no adverse significant environmental effects <br />concerning this proposal. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br />Ayes: Commissioners Doherty, Getty, Lindsey and Chairperson Wilson <br />Noes: None <br />Absent: Commissioner Jamieson <br />Resolution No. 1902 was then entered and adopted recommending approval <br />of the negative declaration for case GP-80-3. <br />A motion was then made by Commissioner Lindsey, seconded by Commissioner <br />Wilson that case GP-80-3 be recommended for approval. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br />Ayes: Commissioners Getty, Lindsey and Chairperson Wilson <br />Noes: Commissioner Doherty <br />Absent: Commissioner Jamieson <br />Resolution No. 1903 was then entered and adopted recommending approval <br />of case GP-80-3 as recommended by staff. <br />GP-80-4, Valley Community Church <br />Application of Valley Community Church for an amendment to the General <br />Plan which would change the land use designation of a 2.32+ acre site <br />located on the north and west of their proposed church site at the <br />northeast end of Del Valle Parkway approximately 200 ft. east of <br />Harvest Road from "Public" to "High Density Residential." The Planning <br />Commission may recommend approval of the proposed change or may recom- <br />ment any other land use designation. A negative declaration of environ- <br />mental impacts was also considered. <br />Mr. Harris explained the staff report and posted rough sketches of <br />the proposal. <br />Commissioner Getty asked if access would only be of Del Valle Parkway. <br />Mr. Harris stated this would be the access. <br />Commissioner Doherty asked if the proposed church has sufficient parking <br />especially if this general plan amendment is allowed. Mr. Harris stated <br />the church must meet the parking requirements. <br />The public hearing was opened. <br />Bill Hirst, 147 Bernal Avenue, spoke representing the applicant. He <br />stated the church is 'property poor' and needs the money from the sale <br />of the portion requested for general plan change. Mr. Hirst stated <br />there are members of the congregation present on behalf of this appli- <br />cation and that while the proposal is for high density, the project <br />in fact would have a duplex-type density developed. <br />-4- <br />T... _.__ ... <br />
