Item 14: Mr. Harris explained this proposal concerning First Street. The public hearing was opened. Doug Safreno, 1627 Vineyard Avenue, an owner of several of the pieces within the proposal, spoke. He stated he didn't know there was a Land Use Committee formed inasmuch as he doesn't take the local news- papers. He stated he owns the property on which the Shell station is located at Vineyard Avenue/First Street. He then stated that all of his plans for his property are based on it staying high density resi- dential and urged it to remain as it is now. Kevin Kelly, 861 Chateli, owner of a .6 acre site on First and Kottinger next to Mr. Safreno's property wants the property to remain high density. The public hearing was closed. Item 15: Mr. Harris explained. He stated this is the one item on which the staff disagrees and said it could be potentially detrimental to the City. The public hearing was opened. No one spoke. The public hearing was closed. Items 16 and 17: Mr. Harris asked that these two items be considered at the same time as they involve the same area. He said this is the Deetz property and properties nearby. The public hearing was opened on Items 16 and 17. No one spoke. The public hearing was closed. Item 18: Mr. Harris stated this property is owned by George Oakes and it is the intent to reduce the width of the park strip to bring it into conformance with the original intent. The public hearing was opened. No one spoke and the public hearing was closed. Item 19: Mr. Harris reviewed the original intention of the Urbanization Line and its relationship to sewer capacity. At the present time sewers are nearly allocated and the usefulness of the Urbanization Line is not as great as it was when put into the plan.
