Commissioner Doherty asked why Mr. Christensen was opposed to
specific uses listed on the suggested list. Mr. Christensen
explained. Mr. Christensen further stated he didn't want people
to purchase food at a delicatessen and then go use their neigh-
borhood park to eat it.
Commissioner Jamieson asked Mr. Harris which uses were allowed
in the currently zoned C-F District. Mr. Harris explained such
things as hotels, motels, gas stations, boat sales, swimming pool
services and sales and related uses. He stated this zoning is really
proper for property located immediately adjacent to a freeway and
not 1/4-1/2 mile away. Commissioner Jamieson asked if there are
any uses in the C-F District the same as the list. Mr. Harris
stated that a restaurant would probably be the only one.
Commissioner Getty asked about access for this development.
Mr. Harris stated they would probably both have access off Stone-
ridge and Pleasant Hill Drive.
Chairperson Wilson asked Mr. Varni if there were any items on the
list he could or would eliminate. Mr. Varni replied that the
list before the Commission is already a compromise after having met
with the homeowners and staff and he couldn't say if his client would
be willing to eliminate any more uses. Mr. Christensen said there
was only one meeting the homeowners attended and the applicant
asked what uses the homeowners would like and we told him.
The public hearing was closed.
Mr. Harris stated there were two meetings; one with the applicant
alone; the other with the applicant and homeowners. Mr. Harris
said the applicant came up with a list of uses and staff talked
them out of several of these; 7-11 store, produce market, small
appliance sales and service, hardware stores, garden supply stores
and perhaps others.
A motion was made by Commissioner Getty, seconded by Commissioner
Jamieson that the project proposed would not have a significant
adverse effect on the environment and that the negative declaration
prepared be recommended for approval.
ROLL CALL VOTE
Ayes: Commissioners Doherty, Getty, Jamieson, Lindsey and
Chairperson Wilson
Noes: None
Resolution No. 1910 was then entered and adopted recommending approval
of the negative declaration for case RZ-80-9.
-5-
