PUD-80-11, Valley Community Church Application of Valley Community Church to rezone the approximately 2.3 acre site located on the north and west of their proposed church site at the northeast end of Del Valle Parkway approximately 200 ft. east of Harvest Road from "Public and Institutional" to "Planned Unit Development-Medium Density Residential" District. Mr. Harris reviewed the staff report. The public hearing was opened. Bill Hirst, 147 Bernal Avenue, Pleasanton represented the applicant. He stated they concur with the staff report. Also he stated a repre- sentative of the church has been meeting with the neighbors adjoining the site to provide clearer detail to them. The public hearing was closed. A motion was made by Commissioner Lindsey, seconded by Commissioner Jamieson that case PUD-80-11 be recommended for approval as stated in the staff report. ROLL CALL VOTE Ayes: Commissioners Doherty, Getty, Jamieson, Lindsey and Chairperson Wilson Noes: None Resolution No. 1917 was then entered and adopted recommending approval of case PUD-80-11. GP-80-9, Southern Pacific Railroad Application of the Southern Pacific Railroad for a general plan amend- ment which would change the land use designation of an approximately 0.8+ acre parcel bounded by Abbie Street, First Street, Angela Street and the SPRR right-of-way from "Open Space-Parks and Recreation" to "Commercial and Offices." A negative declaration of environmental impacts was also considered. Mr. Harris explained the staff report. Commissioner Jamieson asked what long range assurances the City expects to get from the developers concerning DeLucchi and Lions Club parks. Mr. Harris stated that the PUD zoning would show those areas as parks but the City Council could amend the PUD if they so desired.
