Commissioner Getty spoke to design and sign plans for the downtown <br />area. She gave a verbal presentation citing various cities' revi- <br />talization programs and stated her slide presentation is on loan <br />from the Stockton Downtown Association and the Chico Business District. <br />She stated HUD provided funding to make the project available through- <br />out the United States. She stated the theme consists of pedestrian <br />orientation, overall design plan, sign ordinance and a workable <br />sign abatement program. Commissioner Getty presented her 20-minute <br />visual aide program. <br />OLD BUSINESS - Public Hearings <br />There were none. <br />NEW BUSINESS - Public Hearings <br />RZ-80-10, Foothill Associates <br />Application of Foothill Associates to rezone the approximately 9+ acre <br />parcel located on Foothill Road south of Foothill High School at <br />Muirwood Drive South from A (Agricultural) District to the R-1-20,000 <br />(Single-Family Residential) District. A negative declaration of <br />environmental impacts was also considered. <br />Mr. Harris explained the staff report and recommendation of approval. <br />The public hearing was opened. <br />Roger Manning, 1078 Vintner Way, Pleasanton, spoke representing <br />the applicant stating he concurred with the staff recommendation. <br />The public hearing was closed. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Doherty, seconded by Commissioner Getty <br />that the negative declaration prepared for case RZ-80-10 be recommended <br />for approval as development of this project would have no adverse <br />significant effect on the environment. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br />Ayes: Commissioners Doherty, Getty, Jamieson, Lindsey and <br />Chairperson Wilson <br />Noes: None <br />Resolution No. 1915 was then entered and adopted recommending approval <br />of the negative declaration as prepared for case RZ-80-10. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Jamieson, seconded by Commissioner <br />Lindsey that case RZ-80-10 be recommended for approval as suggested <br />in the staff report. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br />Ayes: Commissioners Doherty, Getty, Jamieson, Lindsey and <br />Chairperson Wilson <br />Noes: None <br />Resolution No. 1916 was then entered and adopted recommending approval <br />of case RZ-80-10. <br />-2- <br /> <br />
