Chairperson Wilson said he would have to agree with the staff report.
Commissioner Lindsey suggested that if the Commission agrees, a six
month trial period could be allowed and that the applicant communicate
with staff regarding striping that has to be done, location of the booth
and that perhaps staff and the applicant can come to an agreement
knowing that the Commission is in support of their decision.
Chairperson Wilson had a problem with striping over potholes and stated
that everything should not be given away concerning this parking lot.
Mr. Hirst said there is no problem with paving the potholes, but the
applicant proposes to postpone slurry sealing.
Commissioner Jamieson felt that something should be done to protect
Birdie Bianchi's property from being damaged.
Commissioner Doherty was in agreement with Chairperson Wilson that Mr. Cole
has the right to regulate the parking on his property but would like
to see traffic come in from Main Street exiting on Railroad Avenue and
that there be enforcement.
A motion was made by Commissioner Doherty that the required findings
could be made to grant this use permit and that case UP-81-6 be approved
subject to the conditions outlined in the staff report; but relating to
the removal of curb cuts, that will be put in a suspension file for
six months pending the success of the proposal.
Bill Hirst then asked that this matter be continued to next month to
allow preparation of an accurate site plan depicting the proposal.
The motions were then rescinded and the matter continued to May 13, 1981.
RZ-81-2, Cit of Pleasanton
Application o t e Planning Commission of the City of Pleasanton to
prezone the approximately 41 acre area located on the north side of
Vineyard Avenue immediately east of the Hacienda Mobile Home Park to
RM-4000 (Multiple Family Residential) District or any other zoning
district consistent with the General Plan. A mitigated negative
declaration of environmental impacts was also considered.
Mr. Harris explained the staff report.
Chairperson Wilson read a letter from David and Nancy Storch in oppo-
sition to this proposal.
Chairperson Wilson asked which came first the mobile home complex or the
houses. Mr. Harris said the mobile home park came first.
The public hearing was opened.
James Griffin, 3036 Chardonnay stated his house faces the site and that
additional density in the area isn't good planning.
-8-
