Mrs. Dillon then addressed the Commission explaining the turnover rate, <br />gestation period and the fact that they only breed their rabbits during <br />a certain period of the year. She spoke to the various organizations <br />of which they are members and the fact that they attend seminars on <br />research, etc. at Davis once a year. <br />Bob Long, 5656 San Luis Court, neighbor to the side of the Dillon's <br />spoke to the amount of rabbits kept and slaughtering of rabbits in the <br />back yard. He said there are flies during certain times of the year. <br />He said he is not against the rabbits but that they should have very <br />definite limitations placed on the keeping of them. <br />Commissioner Lindsey asked if Mr. Long would still have the same <br />objection if the Dillons built their proposed hutches. Mr. Long <br />said he has lived there for 12 years and this is the first time he <br />has ever complained. He said the keeping of the rabbits just grew <br />and grew. <br />The public hearing was closed. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Doherty, seconded by Commissioner <br />Jamieson that required findings as shown in the staff report are made <br />that case UP-81-8 be approved subject to conditions as shown thereon <br />but that the rabbits must be housed in a separate building in the <br />rear yard and that the proponents have 90 days in which to reduce the <br />number of the rabbits kept. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br />Ayes: Commissioners Doherty, Jamieson, Lindsey and Vice Chairperson <br />Getty <br />Noes: None <br />Absent: Chairperson Wilson <br />Resolution No. 1994 was then entered and adopted approving case UP-81-8.. <br />The Dillons were advised they have 15 days in which to appeal this <br />case to City Council. <br />RZ-81-5, Planning Commission <br />Application of the Planning Commission to rezone an approximately <br />8.3 acre site owned by the San Francisco City and County Water Depart- <br />ment bounded by the Arroyo del Valle on the north, Alameda County <br />Fairgrounds/Valley Avenue extension on the east with the balance being <br />surrounded by the property of Alfred Fromm from the S (Study) District <br />to the PUD-Industrial Commercial and Offices District or any other <br />zoning district consistent with the General Plan. <br />Mr. Harris explained the staff report. <br />The public hearing was opened. <br />The public hearing was closed. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Jamieson, seconded by Commissioner <br />Doherty that RZ-81-5 be recommended for approval subject to the <br />conditions shown in the staff report and that the zoning be PUD- <br />Industrial, Commercial and Offices District. <br />23- <br /> <br />
