The public hearing was opened.
Ed Covey, 4610 Klamath Court, Pleasanton, spoke stating they agree
with the staff report.
Commissioner Lindsey asked what kind of a cocktail lounge this would
be -- would it be like "y'all come back" saloon on Hopyard?
Mr. Covey explained it would be a nice neighborhood bar. He said the
other tenants are supportive of their application.
William Kovak, 3125 Weymouth Court, stated he supports the application
of Messrs. Covey and Skinner and that they have been businessmen in
town for years.
The public hearing was closed.
Commissioner Doherty made a motion that the required findings as
enumerated as A through C on the staff report can be made and that case
UP-81-7 be approved subject to the conditions of the staff report.
ROLL CALL VOTE
Ayes: Commissioners Doherty, Jamieson, Lindsey and Vice Chairperson
Getty
Noes: None
Absent: Chairperson Wilson
Resolution No. 1993 was then entered and adopted approving case UP-81-7
for Messrs. Covey and Skinner.
UP-81-8, Michael and Mar Dillon
Application of Mic ael and Mary Dillon for a conditional use permit
which would allow the retention of 12 rabbits at their residence located
at 5624 San Luis Court. The property is zoned R-1-6500 (Single-Family
Residential) District.
Mr. Harris presented the staff report and recommendation of approval.
Commissioner Lindsey reaffirmed that the Health Department found the
residence to be clean and relatively free of flies, etc.
The public hearing was opened.
Mike Dillon, the applicant spoke. He agreed with the staff report
except he would like to keep 12 cages instead of 8 because they raise
two types of rabbits. He said they need two bucks and three does in
five cages per breed and a holding cage for the babies for about 2-3
months. He further said they have not increased the number of rabbits
they have in the last two years.
Commissioner Jamieson then talked to Mr. Dillon about flies and rabbit
droppings. Mr. Dillon explained that worms eat the droppings.
Commissioner Doherty indicated that Norman Paul of the Health Department
suggested 12 rabbits but didn't say whether or not they included the
baby rabbits or inclusive of all of the rabbits.
22-
_ __.._ _ ___ _.._. ___.._. . ___.._ _ __ .._.... ___. .__..T._._......._._.
