with the concert of the neighbors on St. Mary, Rose Avenue, Peters and <br />Division, and to propose an overall plan for Peters for a General Plan <br />change and rezoning of all properties on that street and that perhaps <br />the time is right to look at the entire area. He said he is opposed to <br />spot zoning. <br />Vice Chairperson Getty asked if there are any studies available for <br />Peters Avenue. Mr. Warnick said there are none to his knowledge. Vice <br />Chairperson Getty further stated it seems like a lot of money is being <br />spent for the construction of Peters without a study. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Doherty, seconded by Commissioner <br />Jamieson asking staff to set up a study for the entire length of <br />Peters Avenue on the west side to look at possible general plan <br />land use and proper zoning and traffic patterns and at some point <br />the residents of the area be invited to meetings for their input so <br />that staff, Planning Commission and City Council may come to some <br />reasonable solution for the future of the City -- business problems <br />need a business solution. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br />Ayes: Commissioners Doherty, Jamieson, Lindsey and Vice Chairperson <br />Getty <br />Noes: None <br />Absent: Chairperson Wilson <br />A motion was then made by Commissioner Doherty, seconded by Commissioner <br />Jamieson that case GP-80-7 be denied without prejudice and that the <br />Planning Commission recommends to City Council that action on case <br />GP-80-7 be put in abeyance for the results of the study that staff <br />will be doing on the west side of Peters Avenue. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br />Ayes: Commissioners Doherty, Jamieson, Lindsey and Vice Chairperson <br />Getty <br />Noes: None <br />Absent: Chairperson Wilson <br />Resolution No. 1992 was then entered & adopted denying case GP-80-7. <br />UP-80-7, Ed Covey and Bill Skinner <br />Application of Ed Covey and Bill Skinner for a conditional use permit <br />which would allow the operation of a bar at 3506-B Old Santa Rita Road. <br />The property is zoned C-C (Central Commercial) District. <br />Mr. Harris presented the staff report. <br />Commissioner Lindsey addressed Condition No. 6.
