Chairperson Wilson asked for an approximation as to the level of <br />traffic service at this intersection and Pdr. Warnick stated it was <br />probably a "D" at 5:OOpm. <br />Commissioner Lindsey stated that while he doesn't live in the area of <br />this development, that ever since he has been a Commissioner he hears <br />of traffic problems in this area at every meeting and urged that <br />something be done with Pico to ameliorate the situation. <br />Chairperson Wilson asked Mr. Heaton if he would rather have a vote <br />on his project or would he like to have the opportunity to study the <br />Pico matter and return to the Commission June 10, 1981. Mr. Heaton <br />stated he would like the matter continued so he could study the impact <br />of a condition placed on his proposal concerning the extension of <br />Pico Avenue. The matter was then continued. <br />RZ-81-6, William Avilla <br />Application of William Avilla to rezone an approximately 1.62 acre <br />site from "A" (Agricultural) to "C-S" (Commercial Service) District. <br />The property is located at 3878 Stanley Boulevard. The zoning is <br />proposed so that a furniture store may be located on the site. The <br />Planning Commission may recommend any zoning district consistent <br />with the General Plan. A negative declaration of environmental <br />impacts was also considered. <br />Mr. Barris presented the staff report. <br />Commissioner Getty asked when Stanley Boulevard would be widened. <br />Mr. Warnick said this is not on any list at all. <br />The public hearing was opened. <br />Scott Asbill, 4000 Croak Road, Pleasanton, presented leis request. <br />He stated he did not agree with the staff recommendations concerning <br />the physical changes that would be required as conditions of approval <br />of this rezoning concerning the public improvements, etc. He stated <br />he wants a place to build custom cabinets and other woodwork with a <br />sales area for display. He stated that access to 3878 Stanley Boule- <br />vard is as good as that which Irby's has (next door). iie said there <br />will be no significant difference in the traffic with his business <br />as proposed and the traffic as it is now. <br />Chairperson Wilson asked what the use would consist of and Mr. Asbill <br />stated it would be a cabinet shop with a sales area. <br />Karrie Boring, 2122 Arroyo Court, #2, spoke on behalf of this appli- <br />cation. <br />The public hearing was closed. <br />-9- <br /> <br />
