It was determined after the above discussion, the schedule for the
meetings would be as follows:
1. Meetings held second and fourth Wednesday of each month.
(Recognizing it couldn't commence until October 1981)
2. Meetings to start at 7:30 p.m. and end approximately
11:00-11:30 p.m.
3. Planning Commission meetings to allow no more than
30 minutes per item and Board of Adjustment and
Design Review Board 15 minutes per item.
Commissioner Wilson asked that staff advise Planning Commission what
action City Council has taken with regard to Council referrals. It
was agreed that this would be put at the beginning of each agenda in the
future.
Commissioner Wilson stated that he has never had a City Council member
ask why the Planning Commission voted the way they did on any case and
yet they would overrule Planning Commission recommendation. Chairperson
Getty stated it would be a good idea to have a Commissioner present,
perhaps on an alternating basis, at each City Council meeting repre-
senting the Commission's position even if the particular Commissioner
representative was a minority vote on a matter.
Chairperson Getty brought up a hazardous traffic condition on the east
side of Pico by Kottinger Drive and that there should be a "No Parking"
sign placed on the easterly side of Pico between Kottinger and the end
of the park.
Chairperson Getty also stated that the League of Cities has a conference
scheduled 10/17-10/20 and if anyone was interested they should get the
agenda from her.
OLD BUSINESS - Public Hearings
UP-81-10, Kaiser Sand and Gravel
Application of Kaiser Sand and Gravel for a conditional use permit which
would allow the installation and operation of an asphaltic batch plant
on their premises located at 3311 Stanley Boulevard.
