ROLL CALL VOTE
Ayes: Commissioners Doherty, Lindsey, Wilson and Chairperson Getty
Noes: None
Absent: None
Abstain: Commissioner Jamieson
Resolution No. 2073 was then entered and adopted authorizing the Director
of Public Works to allow Reynolds and Brown to locate their identifying
business park sign in the public right-of-way per the conditions of the
Design Review Board approval.
RZ-81-17, City of Pleasanton
Application of the City of Pleasanton to prezone (Annexation No. 91) an
approximately 35 acre site located on the west side of Martin Avenue
at its intersection with Mohr Avenue to any zoning district consistent
with the General Plan. A negative declaration of environmental impacts
will also be considered.
Mr. Harris reviewed the staff report.
There were no questions of the staff.
The public hearing was opened.
Bill Black, 2373 Martin Avenue (corner of
one of the property owners and is in favor
would enable him to reduce the size of the
He stated it is difficult to maintain, not
too large for a single family to keep up.
rid of the walnuts he grew even offering a
he was required to disc them all under 12"
Kohr and Martin) stated he is
of any zoning district which
5 acre site on which he lives.
large enough for farming and
He stated he couldn't get
'you pick' situation and that
because of the medfly situation.
Dean Wagerman, 2333 Martin Avenue, one of the property owners inquired
about Low and Medium Density. Mr. Harris explained the categories.
Mr. Wagerman requested that the property be prezoned for approximately
20,000 sq. ft. He stated 40,000 sq. ft. would be awkward.
Commissioner Doherty stated this is one of the areas he feels, outside
of the Castlewood area, which could be used for large lot sub-
division and that nothing under 20,000 sq. ft. would be appropriate for
the area. He stated the City needs lots for large and small homes and
that this area should be held for the larger ones.
Mr. Wagerman reiterated it becomes difficult to maintain large lots.
Commissioner Wilson stated he agrees with Commissioner Doherty and if
the owners are taking into consideration putting in the cost of improve-
ments for streets, the only thing he can see is an assessment district
for the entire area. Mr. Warnick stated that the assumption is
certainly correct, 20,000 sq. ft. lots would cost considerably more
than 10,000 sq. ft. because you have the same improvements along the
street as you would have with the larger lots.
-4-
_. ,. ~.. .
