Commissioner Jamieson also expressed concerns with the ditch at the
Blackwell Development not looking big enough to take the runoff from
the hill. He also stated that where the road merges next to the Texaco
station on Sunol Boulevard, it doesn't look like there will be sufficient
room for a sidewalk. Mr. Warnick stated that it is not completed yet
and that the design is for a bike/ped path.
Commissioner Jamieson also asked the City policy with regard to bushes
which protrude over sidewalks. Mr. Warnick stated these are handled on
a complaint basis. Commissioner Jamieson suggested notice might be
sent to some areas where this happens. Commissioner Doherty stated there
are many areas within the City where trees are not being trimmed regularly
and causing the sidewalks to elevate. He cited areas on Greenwood,
Tanager, Shearwater. He suggested perhaps the City could trim the
trees some weekend and with some publicity the neighbors would perhaps
volunteer to help clean up. Mr. Warnick said that with the cutback
after Proposition 13 there is a much longer time between trimming of
the trees.
Chairperson Getty stated that the Presbyterian Church parks two large red
busses on the corner of Neal and Second Street and that the red curb
painting is not sufficient as they still park in the area. Mr. Warnick
stated that there is a 72 hour parking limitation wherein vehicles must
be moved after that time. Commissioner Lindsey asked if there were any
length restrictions. Mr. Warnick stated there are but only in some
areas and that perhaps the Police Department can look into the matter.
Commissioner Doherty stated perhaps it would be more diplomatic to con-
tact the Church about the problem.
OLD BUSINESS - Public Hearings
Z-81-66, Amador Savings and Loan Association
Application of Amador Valley Savings and Loan Association for design
review approval for an approximately 7,000 sq. ft., two-story savings
and loan building to be located on the west side of Main Street,
225 ft. south of the intersection of Bernal Avenue and Main Street.
Zoning for the property is C-C (Central Commercial/Civic Overlay)
District. A negative declaration of environmental impacts will also
be considered.
This matter was continued indefinitely.
Mr. Harris explained that the Design Review Board approved an identi-
fication sign for the Reynolds and Brown business park and that the
Planning Commission must approve the location of the sign request
inasmuch as Reynolds and Brown wish to place it in a public right-of-
way.
A motion was made by Commissioner Doherty, seconded by Larry Lindsey
that the Director of Public Works is empowered to allow the installation
of the sign for Reynolds and Brown per the conditions set forth in the
Design Review Board approval of 10/14/81.
-3-
