the City. This will primarily address traffic. On November 16,
1981 there will be a joint City Council/Planning Commission meeting
to hear a presentation by Prudential on their Hopyard Road project.
Although public is invited, this is not to be a public hearing but
is for information purposes only.
Commissioner Jamieson indicated it appears that Prudential is
doing more than the typical grading work on their Hopyard Road
site. It was explained that as part of the grading permit they had
to relocate the Chabot and Hewlett canals and install a storm drain.
Mr. Warnick stated that Prudential has entered into an agreement
with the City of Pleasanton to widen to six lanes Hopyard Road from
Johnson Drive to the Arroyo Mocho.
Commissioner Jamieson inquired about an EIR for the Prudential pro-
posal. Mr. Harris stated a consultant has been hired and an EIR is
being done. He stated this document is being prepared in conformance
with CEQA.
Commissioner Wilson asked if the Planning Commission would be furnished
material to review prior to the joint meetings. Mr. Warnick indicated
that material could be furnished by Mark Thomas. Mr. Harris stated
that the Prudential PUD won't be considered by the Planning Commission
until the EIR is completed.
Commissioner Wilson asked, concerning the assessment districts for
north Pleasanton, if amounts would be furnished. Mr. Warnick stated
that there would be a preliminary engineering report which would
still be subject to changes.
Commissioner Doherty indicated that the magnitude of the Prudential
development is causing a great deal of concern in the community and
that he feels the Commission has not been totally involved in some of
the things that have been going on and that this will effect Pro-
position A's outcome with regard to the Meyer project. He stated
hs is not at all comfortable with what is going on near Hopyard Road.
He indicated the City is being pushed with more vigor than he would
like to see. He said he was sure that the developers would disagree
with these comments. He said this has caused more concern than
anything he can recall in his nine year tenure on the Planning Com-
mission and that the matter is going to have a significant effect
on the Meyers business park.
UP-81-26, Woodhill Development Company
Application of Woodhill Development Company for conditional use permit
approval to allow a sales office and model home complex on the north
side of Laramie Gate Circle and the west side of Santa Rita Road
(Tract 4671).
