Page 6
Minutes
Planning Commission
Commissioner Doherty asked Mr. Lund if he was aware the Commission
had received a letter from Mr. Sportono. Mr. Lund said he has a
copy of the letter.
Pat Milne, 5525 San Antonio Street, Mission Park Homeowners
Association, spoke to the project asking that Pico be extended prior
to construction of improvements; that Pico Avenue be extended so
that it would be the main entrance and exit for the development; and
that the developers improve the width of the easement, provide any
other connectors between Sunol and the development; have construction
vehicles used in the development process go through Pico rather
than Mission Park. He indicated they realize that perhaps their
requests are not appropriate at the present time, but wants to
make sure they are involved in the process to begin with and that
they want to be kept notified of any discussions and desire copies
of all staff reports regarding this matter.
Commissioner Jamieson asked what the current plans are for Pico
Avenue. Mr. Warnick indicated there are no immediate plans to
connect this portion of Pico Avenue. He indicated that Mr. Milne
is referring to an easement from the property going north and that
easement would be a natural connection to Pico.
Commissioner Jamieson stated that .the easement is not totally
the Lunds and that putting a condition regarding the easement on
the prezoning would not be proper. Chairperson Getty stated that
this matter should not be considered at this time.
P~4r. Harris indicated the appropriate conditions have been added
to prezonings in the past.
Commissioner Wilson stated that as a developer he built streets
into the front portion of the Lund property in Mission Park along
with the sewer, water and five foot storm drain lines to serve this
property and the streets will handle additional traffic. He
said people move in a new house on a Friday and that by Tuesday
they are complaining about the continuous new construction in an
area.
Mr. Milne responded that they have no problem with development of
the land. Commissioner Wilson stated that prior to him building
the streets there was no way to get to the land that the City owned
as it was bounded by a spite zone and when he purchased the property
that was removed.
Chairperson Getty added that until it is known how the property is
going to be developed, it is unknown how much traffic is going to
be on the streets and doesn't feel this particular condition is
necessary at the pre zoning stage .
