Page 5
Minutes
Planning Commission
GP-81-7, W. R. Grace Development
R. L. Jones, 3768 Pimlico asked why this matter is continually
cancelled or continued. He said the people are not furnished with
notices of cancellation and there is never a decision as to whether
or not the project will be allowed.
Chairperson Getty addressed Mr. Jones in the audience and
indicated that the Planning Commission is embarrassed as much as
anyone else, but that the developer indicated that people in the
area were notified that the hearing was cancelled.
Commissioner Doherty said that an applicant can withdraw or continue
his application and normally the Commission grants requests for
continuances. He said that particular piece of property has been
before the Planning Commission previously and that the applicant
has a new market study going on and the Commission should give him
a chance to do it.
Mr. Jones thanked the Commission for their attention in this matter.
RZ-81-23, City of Pleasanton,
Application of the City of Pleasanton to prezone two parcels totalling
approximately 250 acres at the eastern terminus of Junipero Street
to the PUD (Planned Unit Development)-Low Density Residential/Open
Space District or to any other district consistent with the General
Plan. A negative declaration of environmental impacts will also
be considered.
Mr. Harris reviewed the staff report and recommendation for
prezoning.
The public hearing was opened.
Vic Lund, 2000 Marciel, Livermore, the property ,,owner, asked that
the Commission act favorably on the prezoning and stated he concurs
with the recommendations of the staff.
Commissioner Wilson asked if in the annexation and prezoning
process Mr. Lund was requesting PUD-Low Density Residential for
just the front 50 acres. Mr. Lund indicated he is asking for
prezoning of the entire 250 acres.
Mr. Harris stated that a portion of the property is shown as Jpen
,Space and will have to be shown Open Space and the portion which
will be Low Density is the western sector as well as the southeastern
portion of the property. The northeastern sector is Open Space and
the remainder could be zoned Low Density Residential. Commissioner
Wilson stated that hopefully Mr. Lund would like to eventually
develop the front 50 acres and maintain the balance for ranch use.
