Mr. Pearson replied by.referring to the pictures <br />appended to the report, indicating those trucks with front axle and <br />rear axle as "two axle" vehicles. He then stated he did not see how <br />diesel trucks could be prohibited, that they start as early as 5:OOam, <br />and that the City doesn't need any fore trucks on their streets, He <br />concluded by stating he agreed with an editorial in the Valley Times, <br />1/2/83 regarding "Promises Kept or broken," which he read. <br />Lars Jotten, 1265 Kolln Street indicated he had attended the <br />original meetings concerning the initial approval but has not <br />attended the meetings regarding modifications to the PUD. <br />He said he did not feel you should have to continually fight <br />this situation after a project is approved. He said he did attend <br />a meeting at Alisal School and it is his general impression that <br />the developer is trying to buy them off. <br />Mr. Martin rebutted the statements of the previous speakers. <br />He indicated that the grade level i~ below the residential homes <br />and that they actually had to regrade 2' to 2-1/2' lower. He <br />addressed the statement of Mr. Jensen earlier that it would only <br />cost each neighbor about $200 to put in their own fences, Mr. Martin <br />said his cost on the fencing they propose is $20/lineal foot, He <br />then apologized to Judy Johnson and thought that the information <br />discussed by he and Mr, Pearson had been passed on. Mr. Martin <br />addressed trucks in the park and the fact that they have now <br />hired a security guard to cover vandalism, etc. He further indi- <br />cated that the neighbors who are in'support of the changes don't <br />come to public meetings. He said h~ has talked to 17 neighbors <br />personally in the area of Kolln Street and has received positive <br />responses from those people backing'on Valley Avenue. <br />Ed Pack, 2940 Scott, Santa Clara, addressed noise calculations <br />made by Mr. Hillyer as presented earlier in the evening. He <br />indicated that the proper formula was not used by Mr. Hillyer in <br />determining the noise levels, He tmen broke down the effect an <br />8 ft. wall would have, 9 ft. wall, etc. <br />Lars Jotten then stated no one has talked to him and Mr. Martin <br />said he personally talked to 17 neighbors. <br />Mr, Warnick then addressed traffic 4n public streets in the park <br />and that the Police Department would have responsibility and <br />if a violation occurred regarding ordinances with regard to <br />on-site then Planning Division would be the enforcement agency. <br />The public hearing was closed, <br />
