PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Page 15 <br />4/13/83 <br />Commissioner Jamieson asked Mr. Elkins if they plan to apply for <br />a liquor license. Mr. Elkins said they do not at this time. He <br />said it is possible they will apply for a Beer & Wine License. <br />No one addressed this application and the public hearing was <br />closed. <br />Commissioner Doherty stated there is a need for a good restaurant <br />in the area. He made a motion to approve case UP-83-6 subject <br />to the three staff conditions and a fourth condition that a <br />uniform signing program be developed by the applicant and presented <br />to the staff for review. In making this motion, Commissioner <br />Doherty made the findings as shown on the staff report. <br />Commissioner Wilson seconded this motion. <br />Commissioner Jamieson asked Commissioner Doherty if he wanted the <br />signing program to go concurrently with the application. Commissioner <br />Doherty felt the applicant would go along with the program and <br />would work diligently with the staff in this regard. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br />AYES: Commissioners Doherty, Getty, Jamieson, Wilson <br />and Chairperson Lindsey <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br />Resolution No. 2292 was entered and adopted approving case UP-83-6 <br />as motioned. <br />UP-83-7, Bernard Howard et al <br />Application of Bernard Howard and Hank Company for conditional <br />use permit approval to operate a photo reproducing and printing <br />facility at 3510-C Old Santa Rita Road. Zoning for the property <br />is C-C (Central Commercial) District. <br />Mr. Glenn presented the staff report. <br />The public hearing was opened. <br />Commissioner Doherty asked if there is any intent to limit the <br />hours of operation. He felt this would be unfair to a printer. <br />Commissioner Getty stated she believed the restriction would be <br />imposed on retail hours. Mr. Glenn stated there is no real intent <br />to limit the working hours. <br />Bernard Howard, 1456 Avenida Entrada, Los Angeles, the applicant <br />addressed his application. He said there would only be small <br />presses and did not wish to be limited to 5:30pm for his working <br />hours. He urged approval of his application. <br />
