MINUTES <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />July 27, 1983 <br />Page 5 <br />RZ-83-5, Pleasanton Joint School District <br />Application of Pleasanton Joint School District to rezone an approximately <br />17 acre school site (Pleasanton Elementary School) at 4750 First Street <br />from the R-1-65 (Single-family Residential) District to the "P" <br />(Public and Institutional) District. A Negative Declaration of en~;~ironmental <br />impacts will also be considered. <br />Mr. Harris presented the staff report recommending approval of the <br />zoning change. <br />Commissioner Wilson asked if there was a reversion clause in the criginal <br />deed. Peter MacDonald, City Attorney, said he didn't know the answer. <br />Commissioner Getty asked if there would be parking problems at the school <br />with an architectural design school using the facility. Mr. Harris didn't <br />know where this used was proposed to be situated on the property. <br />Chairman Jamieson asked about repair and maintenance of vehicles on the <br />site. <br />The public hearing was opened. <br />Robert A. Hagler, Pleasanton School, stated they have no plan to repair <br />or service vehicles on the property and that they will still continue to <br />do repairs at their bus barn. It would be their plan to only store their <br />maintenance vehicles at this location. He said they have recently put <br />up a fence, 6' redwood with laths. They hope to use the site for things <br />which will have no effect on the neighborhood. In the future, it is planned <br />to reestablish the site for a school as needed. Apart of the school site <br />was originally a warehouse when he first started teaching. <br />The public hearing was closed. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Wilson, seconded by Commissioner Lindsey <br />that the negative declaration prepared for case RZ-83-5 be approved inasmuch <br />as project approval will not have an adverse significant effect on the <br />environment. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br />AYES: Commissioners Doherty, Getty, Lindsey, Wilson <br />and Chairman Jamieson <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br />Resolution No. 2337 was entered and adopted recommending approval of the <br />negative declaration as motioned. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Wilson, seconded by Commissioner Lindsey <br />that case RZ-83-5 be recommended for approval. <br />-5- <br />
