MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
July 27, 1983
Page 11
Commissiioner Doherty then made a motion, which was seconded by Commissioner
Wilson that the Planning Commission finds (l) that they have read and
considered the EIR prepared for the overall Hacienda Business Park Project;
(2) that the environmental effects of the project before this Commission
are adequately covered by the prior Hacienda EIR and, in fact, overstate the
potential impacts because the full Hacienda Business Park cannot be built
without a General Plan change; (3) that this Commission finds the potential
cumulative environmental effects are those enumerated in the staff report
but that the conditions of approval minimize these effects and any remaining
effects are outweighed by the projects benefits, all as enumerated in the
staff report, and attachments and testimony given at this meeting; and
(4) that based on the best estimate of the jobs/housing balance in Pleasanton
given development of this project and all other approved projects, the project
is consistent with the balanced growth policies contained in the Growth
Management Element of the General Plan and is also consistent with all other
policies of the General Plan and moved approval of Case PUD-83-13 as herein
described by adoption of the Draft Resolution attached to the staff report
and the conditions attached thereto.
ROLL CALL VOTE
AYES: Commissioners Doherty, Getty, Lindsey, Wilson
and Chairman Jamieson
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
Resolution No. 2341 was entered and adopted recommending approval of
case PUD-83-13 as motioned.
MATTERS FOR COMMISSION'S REVIEW
Chairman Jamieson asked Mr. Harris the date of the joint meeting with
City Council. Mr. Harris responded that it has been set for August 16, 1983,
7:OOpm in the Council Chambers.
Chairman Jamieson stated that as a result of the joint meeting of
Dublin and Pleasanton, the mayors of both cities will get together with Caltrans
August 1, 1983 to review the overpass at Dougherty Road.
Chairman Jamieson then talked to a need for an ordinance governing
hazardous materials. Mr. Harris stated that the Fire Department is working
on an ordinance and as a guideline they are using the one adopted by
Santa Clara. He said they will be submitting their proposal to City Council
shortly. Chairman Jamieson said perhaps they can be pushed along to get
the matter expedited. Mr. Harris responded that the Fire Department is
doing everything possible to proceed with the matter in an expeditious
manner. Mr. Swift stated that the proposal is being reviewed by the City
Attorney at the current time.
Chairman Jamieson had concerns with the lack of planting/fencing around the City's
corporation yard and believes the yard could give a better appearance.
Mr. Warnick said he would look into the matter.
-11-
_.~..._ _ .. _.. _._ . _..._r.._...__.. .__, ____ _ _. _.
