MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
July 27, 1983
Page 12
Mr. Harris stated that the Chuck E. Cheese people have appealed the
decision of the Design Review Board and the matter will now come before
City Council for action.
Commissioner Getty indicated the Spa business at the Best Center has
a sign on the back.
Chairman Jamieson said that Capital Federal has had two banners on it
for a long time.
Chairman Jamieson asked if the Planning Commission wanted to see all of
the colors proposed for the buildings. Mr. Harris stated that in most cases
in presentations colors presented for buildings are presented on renderings
with 'marks alot' and they are not truly representative of the colors
done in paint on the buildings. Commissioner Getty interjected "...like
the grey roof on Foothill Professional Building?"
Commissioner Doherty felt that perhaps Tracy and Pleasanton's Commissioners
should get together. They have development going on with residential
similar to the development in Pleasanton. Commissioner Doherty referred to
a memorandum from John Innes concerning priority of interchanges.
Mr. Warnick stated his understanding is that the citizens group feel that
above any other the Hacienda interchange should be built first and he
doesn't agree with this. He said Hopyard should stay number one.
Commiddioner Doherty spoke to another letter from Innes regarding the BART
alignment and the I-580 route. Mr. Harris stated that in September for
everyone to make a recommendation on the BART alignment.
Commissioner Getty said the school bothers her (4750 First Street). She
said because the district is so poor, they are raising money by bits and
pieces on the site. She had concerns with the use of the baseball fields.
Mr. Warnick said the City will take over the maintenance of the upper fields
and also get use of the multi-purpose room. Commissioner Getty said that
the architectural design school could be a night use.
Chairman Jamieson made reference to Commissioner Doherty's comments about
the Tracy people and suggested that perhaps there could be a meeting to
include Livermore, Pleasanton, Tracy and others. Commissioner Doherty felt
that a large group would not be efficient and agreed that we should also
meet with Livermore in a separate session. Chairman Jamieson still felt
it would be beneficial to have everyone at the same meeting.
Commissioner Doherty stated he had a meeting with the Mohr-Martin people
and it was quite successful. He said six of the seven property owners
were represented at the meeting plus neighbors were included. He said
everyone sat down together and talked about their problems and solutions.
-12-
