MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
8/10/83
Page 4
He stated this isn't the case and they feel positive. about the proposed
hospital. He didn't feel, however, that proper notice has been given
with regard to Kinder Care and that one major concern would be traffic,
then noise and air pollution.
Commissioner Getty asked Mr. Roquette. if he was aware of the rest of the
zoning on the property and that it will be commercial. Mr. Roquette
responded that they are aware of this. Commissioner Getty then asked
about how many people in his neighborhood have children with. parents
working. Mr Roquette indicated he didn't know but that in his immediate
area most people had one. spouse home. Commissioner Getty stated hopefully
this type of use would be used by people all over town, but conceivably
could be filled by people in the Pleasanton Meadows area. She didn`t
believe it would generate a traffic concern plus they supply buses for
those who go in early which would reduce the amount of traffic at certain
times of the day. She then asked Mr. Roquette if he was aware of the
Pimlico realignment. He responded that he is aware of it. He stated
that there are no traffic lights in the area. He didn't feel that a
modification to a PUD and development plan need to be considered at one
time and they will go to City Council if they have to. He said to have
contact with a developer on Thursday before a meeting is not sufficient
time.
Acting Chairman Wilson believed it would be practical to continue this matter
for a couple of weeks because if the matter is referred to City Council
they will suggest that the developer get together with the homeowners
association in the area and it will be delayed anyhow. Mr. Jordan
stated he would like to proceed and meet with the homeowners prior to
the City Council meeting. He stated he would get representatives of
Kinder Care from Southern California and Alabama to be present.
Chairman Wilson felt the homework should have already been done prior
to presentation to the Planning Commission. Mr. Jordan again indicated
he didn't want the matter continued. After discussion with others
regarding this matter, Mr. Jordan concurred to continue. this matter.
Mr. Warnick stated that the location of Pimlico realignment is pretty
well determined and there are semi-final plans now being checked by
staff.
Acting Chairman Wilson then asked if the other Planning Commission
members agree to continue this matter to 8/24/83. The members concurred.
Commissioner Arrigoniwould like to see more complete drawings. Mr. Jordan
said that complete sets of drawings would be ready next week.
Commissioner Lindsey urged the applicants to work with. the neighbors
of the Pleasanton Meadows area.
Mr. Warnick stated there are plans before Caltrans at the current time
for a signal at Pimlico and Santa Rita Road and as soon as the plans are
approved, there will be a signal perhaps in six months time..
... _
.. ~_.,. _
.. _.... ., ...~.. .. .T.__ ._~, ~...
