Page 7 <br />Minutes <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Doherty, seconded by Commissioner <br />Lindsey that an application for a general plan amendment be initiated <br />to change the 6.6 acre parcel located just to the east of the <br />Stoneridge Townhouses from High Density to Medium Density Residential. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br />AYES: Commissioners Doherty, Lindsey, Wilson <br />and Jamieson, Chairman <br />NOES: Commissioner Getty <br />None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br />Resolution No. 2343 was entered and adopted initiating a general <br />plan amendment application as motioned. <br />Chairman Jamieson thanked all of the people for participating <br />in the aforementioned subject. <br />Chairman Jamieson then announced another change to the agenda. <br />He stated that Item 6d, Case UP-83-27, Katie Nicholson, would <br />be heard next. <br />NEW BUSINESS - Public Hearings <br />UP-83-27, Katie Nicholson <br />Application o Katie Nicholson for a conditional use permit to <br />allow the installation and operation of an ice vending station <br />at the northeast corner of Neal Street and Railroad Avenue. <br />Zoning for the property is C-C (Central Commercial) District. <br />Mr. Harris presented the staff report recommending approval of <br />the conditional use permit for the ice vending station. <br />The public hearing was opened. <br />Katie Nicholson, 456 Del Sol, represented her application. She <br />had read the staff report. Concerning Condition No. 5 with regard <br />to signing, she asked if she had to have the signs which are <br />already painted on the building reapproved. Commissioner Getty <br />asked if they were approved in the past. Ms. Nicholson said <br />they were. Mr. Harris felt that since there were no problems <br />with the signs on the side of the building in the past the City <br />would probably have no problems with them in the future. <br />Commissioner Doherty asked if there would be a financial impact <br />on the applicant in granting the use permit for one year. Ms. <br />Nicholson said she is banking on the City and others being so <br />behind she'll be in there longer. <br />The public hearing was closed. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Doherty,. seconded by Commissioner <br />Getty that all findings as shown in the staff report are made <br />and that case UP-83-27 be approved subject to the conditions <br />shown in that report. <br />
