MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
10/12/83
Page 2
properties at this time. He stated that at a future date,
he would submit a petition from the area. He further stated
that his suggestion is not to change the names of existing streets
but to look into the procedures for new projects and as an example
he cited the 180 units recently approved for Ponderosa Homes.
Mr. Hughes then discussed garrish signs put up by the developers
of the units behind Flair Markets along Vineyard Avenue and
other places in the area. He stated he checked with the City
and the developer has no approval for these signs. He asked
when the City would make them take the signs down. Mr. Hughes
said he had talked to Richard Glenn who said he would call and
take care of the matter, but at this time the signs are still
up. Mr. Harris responded that Mr. Glenn has in fact asked the
developer to take down these unapproved signs but that generally
the City gives a one week notice. Chairman Jamieson stated
that generally this type of concern is taken up with the staff
the end of the Planning Commission inasmuch as time is of the
essence generally at the beginning of the meetings.
REVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA
Mr. Harris then made the following suggested changes to the
agenda: 5a, case PUD-83-16, Val West to be continued to 10/26/83;
5b, case GP-83-8, City of Pleasanton to 10/26/83; 6f, case PUD-83-17,
Amador Associates to 10/26/83; and 6i, case PUD-83-20, Victor
Lund, Jr., et al to be continued indefinitely for revision of
plans. The Planning Commission concurred with these changes.
Commissioner Lindsey then asked about any case which is continued
indefinitely - would the item continue to appear on the agenda.
Mr. Harris stated that it would not and that it must be readvertised.
MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS
There was none.
OLD BUSINESS - Public Hearings
PUD-83-16, Val West
Application o Val West, Inc. for PUD (Planned Unit Development)-
development plan approval of a 231 unit residential development
project on approximately 35 acres lotted on the north side of
Vineyard Avenue opposite Sauterne Way. Zoning for the property
is PUD (Planned Unit Development)-Medium Density Residential
District. A negative declaration of environmental impacts will
also be considered.
This item was continued to 10/26/83 as discussed.
-2-
