MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
10/12/83
Page 11
Commissioner Getty asked when General Plan amendments are going
to the City Council. Mr. Harris responded that they will be
heard on December 6, 1983. Commissioner Doherty felt that perhaps
GP-83-9 should be continued to November 9, 1983 for a full Commission.
A motion was made by Commissioner Doherty, seconded by Chairman
Jamieson that case GP-83-9 be continued to November 9, 1983,
8:OOpm. AYES: Commissioners Doherty and Chairman Jamieson.
NOES: Commissioner Getty
GP-83-9 was then continued to November 9, 1983 as motioned and
carried.
UP 83-37, Hone Treat Yo urt
Application o Honey Treat Yogurt for a conditional use permit
to maintain four amusement devices (video games) as part of
a restaurant at 929 Main Street. Zoning for the property is
C-C (Central Commercial) District.
Mr. Harris presented the staff report recommending approval.
Commissioner Getty asked where the bike rack would go. Mr. Harris
stated that the bike rack is required under the Health and Safety
ordinance. Commissioner Lindey asked if they would be making
an exception to the ordinance code if the use were approved
without a bike rack.
The public hearing was opened.
James Winter, 4040 Rennellwood Way, addressed the Commission.
Commissioner Lindsey asked the applicant where he would install
a bike rack. Mr. Winter said probably on the south side of
the building, next to the Cal-Fed building.
Commissioner Getty asked the applicant if he liked the machines
in the shop. Mr. Winters said he did indicating that both children
and adults play the games. Commissioner Getty had concerns
with parking requirements especially in view of the fact that
the burrito shop is so close. She couldn't envision where a
bike rack would go that wouldn't be a problem. Mr. Winters
then asked Commissioner Getty if she would like to see the machines
removed. Commissioner Getty said that personally she would
like them eliminated. Commissioner Lindsey asked if by putting
in bike racks there would be more problems. Mr. Harris said
that the ordinance that governs video games are not part of
the zoning ordinance.
-11-
_. . __. _ _ .. _._ ~__ ,_.. _ _ _ T ..
