Minutes <br />Planning Comm ~ssioi <br />12/12/84 <br />Chairman Doherty announced that Item 8a, application of Pondersa <br />Homes would be rescheduled and be considered between the Old and <br />New Business and that UP-84-1, Calli and Suer would be heard <br />first under new business. <br />Commissioner Getty stated that Boswells at 3597 Del Valle Parkway <br />has a proliferation of signs in their windows and is apparently <br />conducting a retail establishment out of this building. Mr. <br />Harris reported that staff is currently working on this matter <br />and that Boswells was approved as a wholesale establishment only. <br />Chairman Doherty announced that he will not be present at the <br />1/9/85 meeting and asked Vice Chairman Wilson to replace him as <br />Chairman at this meeting. Vice Chairman Wilson agreed. <br />OLD BUSINESS - Public Hearings <br />UP-84-55, Amador Valley Savings & Loan <br />Application of Amador Valley Savings & Loan for conditional use <br />permit approval to operate a savings and loan branch office in a <br />2525 sq. ft. addition to the existing shopping center (Amador <br />Center) located on the southwest corner of the intersection of <br />Valley Avenue and Santa Rita Road. Zoning for the property is CN <br />(Neighborhood Commercial)-District. <br />This as continued to 1/23/85. <br />UP-84-1, Calli and Suer <br />Application for conditional use permit approval to operate a <br />cocktail lounge with dancing and music at an existing shopping <br />center complex (Vintage Hills Shopping Center) located on the <br />southeast corner of Tawny Drive and Bernal Avenue. Zoning for <br />the property is PUD (Planned Unit Development)-Neighborhood <br />Commercial District. A negative declaration of environmental <br />impacts will also be considered. <br />Mr. Harris presented the staff report. <br />The public hearing was opened. <br />Lou Calli, 3136 Cranwood Court, indicated that he has received a <br />copy of the staff report and agreed to the conditions suggested <br />thereon. He reviewed the type of cocktail lounge he proposes to <br />have. They would cater to an older crowd and would not cater to <br />the younger disco type people. The manager of their proposed <br />lounge would be a person who has managed the Pleasanton Lounge <br />for quite some time and is well known for doing an outstanding <br />job. Mr. Calli expressed his willingness to work with the <br />community. Commissioner Lindsey asked if Mr. Calli had made any <br />attempt to meet with the residents. Mr. Calli said they have met <br />with Frank Belecky. He presented a petition of persons favoring <br />the lounge. He presented the petition to Commissioner Lindsey. <br />Commissioner Innes indicated that the condominiums and apartments <br />of the area probably have younger people living in them. Mr. <br />Calli stated they would cater to people 30 and above. <br />- 2 - <br />-r-- <br />
