Equity
Enterprises has requested that the general plan designation on
the above listed properties be changed from "Medium Density
Residential" to "High Density Residential."
A development plan to construct a 39 unit townhome condominium
project at 4005 Stanley Boulevard will also be discussed.
Mr. Harris presented the staff report indicating that no action
would be taken this evening. He then reviewed the history of the
area and the previous desires of the residents during annexation.
Commissioner Innes asked about the current plan for the extension
of the Del Valle Parkway onto Stanley Boulevard. Mr. Harris
stated that this is not in the three year capital improvement
program. The City is looking at the area very closely because
once an extension is made between Hopyard and Main Street, the
intersection will be offset by about 200 feet.
Commissioner Lindsey asked if anyone has studied the total
circulation plan with regard to the appropriateness of the Del
Valle Parkway extension now that the City is looking for Valley
Avenue to be connected to Stanley Boulevard-Bernal Avenue. Mr.
Harris indicated this has been reviewed and traffic reports show
the trip generation to be approximately 10,000 trips per day.
George Spiliotopoulos, a partner in the project, 5638 San Jose
Drive, Pleasanton, passed out a blue folder to the Commissioners
describing the development. She felt the project has a lot of integrity
and Messrs. Spiliotopoulos and Hirst have tried to please the
people of the neighborhood.
Mr. Spiliotopoulos indicated that Stanley Boulevard is a special
place and one of the oldest most stable areas in the City. The
youngest people living on Stanley Boulevard have lived there for
20 years. In working with the neighbors, they have been
overwhelming in support of this project. 33 of 38 have signed a
petition in support of it,four persons are undecided and there is
one recorded in opposition.
- 8 -
_. _ _~
