Minutes
Planning Commissi. .
10/24/84
Chairman Doherty reported that the developers of the residential
units behind Foothill High School are flying a large helium
filled balloon on weekends advertising the subdivision and asked
staff to check into this.
Chairman Doherty spoke to the need for a Human SErvices
COMMISSION liaison. He suggested that perhaps the duty should be
split. Between now and the next COMMISSION meeting he would
suggested that consideration be given to each person taking two
meetings per year.
PUD-79-11-4M, Cork Harbour Company
Application of Cork Harbour Company for a major modification to
case PUD-79-11, a single-family residential planned unit
development on the approximately 32 acre site located east of the
Pleasanton School upper playfield between Bernal Avenue and the
residences on the south side of Angela STreet, to reduce by
approximately 40% the common open space required by the PUD
development plan for the project. The property is zoned PUD
(Planned Unit Development)-Medium Density Residential District.
Mr. Harris presented the staff report indicating that staff has
no indication that the property owners are in favor of the plan
presented. Cork Harbour's letter indicates that they are in no
position to pay for fencing. Staff is more concerned with a
single installation which is the same than who pays for it.
Commissioner Getty stated that some people have already put up
fencing on their property. Mr. Harris indicated that the
proposed plan indicates all of the fencing to be removed and some
property owners may object to this. The City is trying to avoid
trash areas and areas which would create a nuisance for the City.
Commissioner Getty asked who maintains the service easements.
Staff explained.
Mr. Warnick explained that the City will look at the situation
before the first storm of the season and generally tries to clean
sanitary sewers every year or every other year. So these
facilities would be inspected at least once or twice per year.
Chairman Doherty stated that Cork Harbour's letter indicates that
they do not want to pay for fencing. He felt they should be
responsible.
Commissioner Wilson asked for a colored map showing the proposed
fence line. Staff complied.
Commissioner Lindsey stated that basically one is talking about
one long fence that would have to be added.
Commissioner Wilson asked if the flood waters would negatively
effect the fences. Mr. Harris explained that there would be a
grate at the bottom.
- 2 -
