Employee receiving educational incentive pay as of August <br /> 31, 1990 shall continue to receive said pay except as <br /> provided for in Appendix A. Employees having enrolled in <br /> the educational incentive pay plan on or before July 1, <br /> 1988 shall upon completion of five years of service with <br /> the City of Pleasanton Fire Department receive educational <br /> incentive pay as provided in Appendix A. <br /> 21.2 Tuition Reimbursement <br /> Employees who successfully complete courses with a grade <br /> of "C" or better from colleges or universities accredited <br /> by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges shall <br /> be reimbursed for tuition expenses at the rate for <br /> internal degrees levied by Hayward State University at the <br /> time of the employee's enrollment in the courses for which <br /> tuition reimbursement is requested. However, the maximum <br /> amount of tuition reimbursement shall not exceed $837.00 <br /> per fiscal year per employee. <br /> Employees enrolled in colleges or universities on a <br /> semester basis shall be reimbursed at one and one half (1- <br /> 1/2) times the equivalent quarter hour rate at Hayward <br /> State University to a maximum tuition reimbursement of <br /> $837.00 per fiscal year. <br /> Employees submitting requests for tuition reimbursement <br /> shall provide the personnel Officer an official receipt <br /> from the college or university verifying the payment of <br /> tuition and an official transcript of the grades received <br /> for which tuition is requested. <br /> Section 22. Probationary Period <br /> 22.1 Length of Probationary Period <br /> All original and promotional appointments shall be <br /> tentative and subject to a probationary period of twelve <br /> (12) months actual service except that after serving a <br /> minimum of six months in a probationary status following <br /> promotion an employee whose performance has been evaluated <br /> as excellent may be removed from probationary status. <br /> 22.2 Notification Requirements <br /> A probationary employee shall be notified by the Personnel <br /> Director forty -five (45) days prior to the expiration date <br /> of his /her probationary period. <br /> - 20 - <br />
