in Section 5.1 of this Memorandum of Understanding. The <br /> decision to convert must be made at least thirty (30) <br /> working days prior to the start of a payroll period and on <br /> a form provided by the Personnel Department. The decision <br /> to convert, once made, shall be irrevocable. <br /> 18.4 Adoption of Credit for Unused Sick Leave Option <br /> Prior to June 30, 1987, the City shall amend its contract <br /> with PERS for the purpose of adopting the "credit for <br /> unused sick leave" option. The cost of said retirement <br /> option shall be borne by the City. For purposes of <br /> determining the amount of unused sick leave for which <br /> service credit is to be received. 11.2 hours of sick <br /> leave shall be considered one day. <br /> Section 19. Uniforms <br /> The City shall provide at its expense required protective <br /> clothing and footwear. For new employees the City shall <br /> pay fifty percent (50 %) of the cost of original uniform <br /> requirements: three (3) shirts, three (3) pants, belt, <br /> boots, and any other required uniform. <br /> Uniform changes initiated by the City shall be made at the <br /> expense of the City. <br /> All employees covered by this Agreement shall wear the <br /> same uniforms. <br /> Effective July 1, 1988, those employees required to wear <br /> prescribed uniform shall receive an annual uniform <br /> maintenance allowance of $312.00 payable on April 1 of <br /> each year; provided, however, that if the payment date <br /> follows by less than six (6) months the date of <br /> appointment of such an employee, no such uniform <br /> maintenance allowance for said employee shall be <br /> forthcoming until the succeeding annual payment date. <br /> Section 20. Credit Union <br /> The City shall implement a voluntary payroll deduction <br /> option for those employees who wish to join the City and <br /> County Employees Credit Union for the purposes of <br /> transacting business with such City and County Employees <br /> Credit Union. <br /> Section 21.
