Zoning for the property is R-1-6500 (Single-family
Residential) District. A negative declaration of environmental
impacts will also be considered.
This matter was continued to 9/26/84.
RZ-84-10, City of Pleasanton
Application of the Planning Commission to amend certain sections
of the zoning code as they pertain to temporary subdivision and
real estate signs adjacent to freeways. The Planning Commission
may recommend any action on this matter deemed to be in the
public interest.
Mr. Harris presented the staff report.
Commissioner Innes asked why the proposed ordinance excluded
properties over 100 acres. Mr. Harris explained that there are
developments with over 100 acres which have larger than 100 sq.
ft. signs but because of the design and location they really
appear to be much smaller. Commissioner Innes felt that size was
related to design rather than acreage.
Commissioner Innes then asked for the City's definition of
'temporary'. Mr. Harris indicated that there is no City
definition for 'temporary'. Generally speaking, in Mr. Harris'
opinion temporary signs are mounted on 4'x'4s and are not
finished. Commissioner Innes then asked how long a subdivision
sign could be up. Mr. Harris indicated that subdivision signs
can be up one year, but there is no limit with regard to other
- 3 -
. _r-
