MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
7/11/84
Page 2
MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS
Commissioner Innes had concerns with an item currently before the County to
allow the Moller Quarry to operate for an additional 17 years. He had a problem
with a blanket 17 year extension without having checks and balances and felt
it could be detrimental to the Safety and Welfare particularly along Foothill
Road. Mr. Harris stated that City Council has already asked staff to draft
a letter on this issue. Commissioner Getty. felt that it might be in order
to state that the Planning Commission supports the recent action of the City
Council. Mr. Harris then reported that City Council is against the extension
for 17 years.
A motion was made by Commissioner Innes, seconded by Commissioner Getty to
support the City Council's position which will recommend that a 17 year extension
on the Moller Quarry conditional use permit not be granted.
ROLL CALL VOTE
AYES: Commissioners Getty, Innes, Wellman and Vice Chairman Wilson
NOES: None
ABSENT: Commissioners Lindsey and Chairman Doherty
ABSTAIN: None
Resolution No. 2491 was entered and adopted endorsing the recommendation of
the Pleasanton City Council in support of denial of the application of Moller
Quarry for a 17 year extension to their conditional use permit.
TENTATIVE TRACT MAPS
Tentative Map Tract 5333
Application of Far West Associates to subdivide the approximately 4.7 acre
site located on the south side of Vineyard Avenue immediately west of the residences
on the west side of Mavis Drive into 13 separate parcels. The property is
zoned PUD (Planned Unit Development)-Medium Density Residential District.
Mr. Harris indicated that staff is recommending approval of this application
and feels that it conforms to the approved zoning and general plan land use
designation for the property. However, he had received a call from Bud Garrigan
a neighbor to the project who indicated that since the vegetation was removed
the area is very dusty and has created an atmosphere whereby
dirt bikers use it for recreation. It was then requested that a temporary
construction fence be installed across the front of the property and that
every effort be undertaken at the earliest possible time to eliminate the dust
problem which has been created.
--2-
__ __r _
