MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
7/11/84
Page 3
Commissioner Innes asked if the staff had discussed these issues with the applicant.
Mr. Harris indicated that they have discussed the matter.
The public hearing was opened.
Lou Baldacci, Far West Associates, indicated that he had discusssed both the
fencing and dust problems with Messrs. Garrigan and Harris. They have a plan
in motion to put fencing up and post 'no trespassing' signs. There was an
old house on the property and when it was razed, since the equipment was already
on the site they cleared some trees and shrubs which were scheduled for removal.
They are looking into putting some kind of oil or other method to keep the
dust down. He doesn't know of any permanent solution to the dust situation
at the current time but is very sensitive to the neighbors
complaints. Mr. Warnick suggested that if the area was watered very heavily,
a crust might be created holding the dust down for quite awhile.
Regarding the drainage problems, the applicant stated they are currently doing
something about it and are working with the City Engineer at this time.
The public hearing was closed.
A motion was made by Commissioner Getty, seconded by Commissioner Innes that
Tentative Map Tract 5333 be approved subject to the conditions shown in the
staff report, adding the requirements concerning the addition of a construction
fence at the front of the property and wherever else needed and that the developer
shall work diligently to solve the dust problem created by this construction.
ROLL CALL VOTE
AYES: Commissioners Getty, Innes, Wellman and Vice Chairman Wilson
NOES: Nine
ABSENT: Commissioner Lindsey and Chairman Doherty
ABSTAIN: None
Resolution No. 2492 was entered and adopted approving Tract 5333 as motioned.
Tentative Map Tract 5229
Application of Crocker Homes to subdivide the approximately 8 acre site located
on the north side of Parkside Drive immediately west of the western terminus
of Sutter Gate Avenue into 33 separate parcels. The property is zoned R-1-7500
(Single-family Residential) District. This matter was continued to 8/8/84
at the request of the applicant.
OLD BUSINESS - Public Hearings
PUD-83-25, Frank Auf der Maur
Application of Frank Auf der Maur for PUD (Planned Unit~Development)-zoning
and development plan approval on the approximately 70 acre site located on
the south side of Stanley Boulevard immediately east of the Stow-A-Way Mini-Storage
property and to revise the types of commercial uses allowed and conditionally
allowed in certain parts of the project area. Zoning for the property is PUD
(Planned Unit Development)-Commercial District. A negative declaration of
environmental impacts will also be considered.
-3-
