MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
6/13/84
Page 11
Commissioner Getty indicated that by looking at the photographs presented by
Kentucky Fried Chicken as it exists today, she didn't see why a drive-through
couldn't be accomplished on the other side of the building and thus the traffic
would merge with the parking lot traffic before going onto Santa Rita Road.
She was very much against the plan submitted.
Commissioner Lindsey didn't want to add to the already bad traffic situation crossing
Valley Avenue. Traffic moves rapidly. Commissioner Innes shared the concerns
of the other commissions. He was not against a drive-through window but the
traffic caused him concerns. He confirmed Commissioner Getty's idea of perhaps
relocating the drive-through on the other side of the building.
A motion was made by Commissioner Wilson, seconded by Commissioner Lindsey
that case UP-84-18 be denied without prejudice for the reasons stated during
the testimony.
ROLL CALL VOTE
AYES: Commissioners Getty, Innes, Lindsey, Wilson and
Chairman Doherty
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
Resolution No. 2480 was entered and adopted denying UP-84-18 without prejudice.
The Chairman explained to the applicant that by denying the use without prejudice
he could come back in with another applicaiton for a conditional use permit.
He also advised the applicant that this decision could be appealed to the City
Council. Such an appeal would have to be received within 15 days of the date
to the 6/13/84 action.
UP-84-23, Fairlands Associates
Application of Fairlands Associates for a conditional use permit for a model
home and sales office complex, to be located at the northeast corner of the
intersection of Kirkcaldy Court and Kirkcaldy Street. Zoning for the property
is R-1-6500 (Single-family Residential) District.
Mr. Harris presented the staff report recommending approval subject to typical
conditions.
The public hearing was opened.
No one addressed this matter.
The public haring was closed
A motion was made by Commissioner Lindsey, seconded by Commissioner Getty that
all findings required for granting approval of case UP-84-23 are made and that
UP-84-23 be approved subject to the conditions shown in the staff report.
-11-
