Alameda County Transportation Improvement Authority <br />Special Transportation for Seniors and People with llisabilities <br />'Task to include: <br />1. Staff works with City's web master to improve PPS web site information. <br />During 2007, staff has planned four (4) travel-training trips with LAVTA, including both <br />local and Alameda County travel. <br />The second Annual PPS "Transit Fair was held on March 16, 2007, and included <br />representatives from PPS, Wheels, BART, AC"TIA, County Connection, and ACE Train. <br />Representatives of the Pleasanton Police Department answered public safety issues. <br />Information was distributed about transit advisory board opportunities, and clients had an <br />opportunity to meet with the Wheels ADA coordinator and complete ADA certification <br />forms. Door prizes and transit information was distributed. <br />The PPS Newsletter "Around Town with PPS" continues to be published and provides <br />excellent information on a variety of transit options. <br />The City's web master has completed an upgrade to the PPS website and it is now a much <br />more user-friendly site, which connects to different resources. <br />On March 23, 2007, the PPS Task Force reviewed the final draft version of the new PPS <br />client orientation packet. The target date for distribution of these materials is July 1, 2007. <br />PPS staff are working with LAVTA staff as they implement the Valley-wide pilot taxi <br />program. Some of the PPS riders who also use the Wheels Dial-A-Ride Program will be <br />included in this study. <br />. What needs or priorities will still not be met even after implementing proposed service <br />changes'? <br />• How many potential riders do you estimate will use this service this coming tiscal year? <br />Kesnonse• <br />The Pleasanton Paratransit Task Force continues to evaluate the service delivery system and <br />clients' needs. With over 68% City General Fund support, it is critical that the service meet <br />residents' needs. <br />Some service changes that occurred in FY 2006-07, and benefited riders included: <br />• Assisted LAVTA staff with pilot valley-wide taxi program. <br />• Expanded marketing efforts by continuing the Transit Fair to encourage <br />clients to learn more about public transit options. <br />X:AParatransitAAnnual Program Application Cover FY0708 Mareh 27, 2007.doc <br />Page 11 of 20 <br />
