• Formation of a Regional Marketing Strategy Action Team to define regional
assets and outline a strategy and recommend appropriate supporting materials to
clearly establish the Tri-Valley as a "Region of Innovation and Entrepreneurship;"
this team includes each jurisdiction's Economic Development Director. The
strategy will include promotion of the Tri-Valley's unique regional assets such as
vibrant downtowns, strong retail offerings, open space and recreational
opportunities and well-balanced business communities.
• Formation of an Innovators Network Website Action Team to participate in the
development of a website that will profile regional innovation companies, their
products, services, technical capabilities, and needs. This website will provide an
outline of companies in the region and will also be a foundation for an "intelligent
matching" of firms with businesses and technology partners, business services,
customers, and job seekers. The website template has already been developed
and will be formally launched by the end of this fiscal year.
• Creation of an Innovators Forum series that will highlight topics of interest to
regional innovation executives and provide an opportunity for them to network
with other executives, and government and community leaders. Two have
already been held and explored opportunities to establish the Tri-Valley region as
a center for technology innovation.
Pleasanton's allocation of funding to the Business Council will be directed to supporting
these three initiatives.
This fiscal year, both of the Cities of Livermore and Dublin, as well as the Town of
Danville, have given the Business Council the requested $25,000. The City of San
Ramon is currently processing the request; its Council will consider the allocation at an
upcoming meeting.
by:
vela Ott
actor of Economic
Development
Fiscal Review:
David P.
