MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
PAGE 2
He stated there is a Senate Bill and Assembly Bill which will be helpful to
the Cities but felt it would be vetoed because funding to Junior Colleges
was tacked on. He urged everyone to write their senators and congressman
to get the bills through.
Commissioner Doherty felt that the Planning Commission Institute was a very
enlightening seminar in which he met Commissioners from surrounding cities.
OLD BUSINESS - Public Hearings
GP-83-16, Joyhn Perasso
Application of John and Jocelyn Perasso to amend the General Plan land use
designation from Medium Density Residential to High Density Residential on
an approximately 1.22 acre site at 123 and 125 Ray Street. The subject property
is currently zoned RM-15 (Multi-family Residential) District. The Planning
Commission may recommend any action on this matter deemed in the public interest.
A negative declaration of environmental impacts will also be considered.
The public hearing was opened.
Gene Rhodes, spoke representing the applicants. He stated their original
intent was to change the general plan land use designation so that it would
be in conformance with the zoning. However, there is a general feeling that
something in the neighborhood of 10/12 units would be more appropriate than
35 units as intended to be proposed. He indicated that they are willing to
accept the staff recommendation with regard to this property.
Juanita Bianchi, 4105 Walnut Drive, indicated that she had circulated a petition
because of traffic problems and did not want High Density Residential for
this property.
The public hearing was closed.
Mr. Rhodes stated they wish to wishdraw their application.
A motion was made by Commissioner Lindsey, seconded by Commissioner Wilson
to initiate an application to rezone 123 and 125 Ray Street and that it is
their intention that the property be rezoned to PUD-Medium Density Resisdential
to conform to the general plan.
ROLL CALL VOTE
AYES: Commissioners Doherty, Getty, Lindsey, Wilson and
Chairman Jamieson
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
-2-
__ _ _.._. _... _._._...__ ._.. _..,..._._._~..._.__.... _.. __.. _._.._.__._.. _....~_...._.. _._,___.....__ ... _... _.___.. .. _, _. _,_ _.. .,.T.
