Minutes
Planning Commissic
November 13, 1985
Commissioner Hoyt said there are four ramps within the area of
the problem ramp and overall there are probably 30 ramps or may
be more in town. You do not hear of all of them but only the
one. He didn't want to force children to skateboard in the
culverts and other dangerous areas where they are now skating.
Commissioner Lindsey didn't feel that a single incident should be
cause for zoning code change.
Chairman Wilson asked the District Attorney's opinion for
resolution. Mr. Swift stated the District Attorney had scheduled
a citation hearing and Mrs. Wayne hadn't attended, possibly due
to nonreceipt of notice.
A motion was made
Commissioner Hoyt
reasons stated in
ROLL CALL VOTE
AYES:
NOES:
ABSENT:
ABSTAIN:
by Commissioner Lindsey, seconded by
that RZ-85-16 be recommended for denial for the
the testimony.
Commissioners Hoyt, Innes, Lindsey, and
Wellman
Chairman Wilson
None
None
Resolution No. 2725 was entered and adopted recommending denial
of Case RZ-85-16 as motioned.
GP-85-11, Ponderosa Homes
Application of Ponderosa Homes for an amendment to the Land Use
Element of the General Plan to redesignate an approximately 13.4
acre site from Medium Density Residential to High Density
Residential located on the west side of Camino Segura, between
Via de Los Cerros and Paseo Santa Cruz. Zoninq for the property
is PUD (Planned Unit Development)-Medium Density Residential
District.
Mr. Swift presented the staff report recommending approval of
this case. He indicated the Residential Review Committee has
designated this property as High Density Residential because of
its location to Hopyard Road/Valley Avenue, etc.
Chairman Wilson asked-how many units to the acre are allowed for
High Density Residential. Mr. Swift indicated the current
General Plan designation is 8 dwelling units per acre with no
maximum. Ponderosa has not indicated at what density they would
like to develop. Mr. Swift reviewed the densities of the other
approved Ponderosa sites including that of the now developed
Barratt Homes. Mr. Swift indicated the zoning would be affixed
later.
The public hearing was opened.
Chuck Pinkerton, Ponderosa Homes, 6671 Owens Drive, Pleasanton,
reviewed the history of their Long Term Agreement with the City
- 6 -
