Minutes <br />Planning Commissio <br />November 13, 1985 <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Hoyt, seconded by Commissioner <br />Innes, that Case GP-85-11 be recommended for denial. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br />AYES: Commissioners Hoyt, Innes, Lindsey, Wellman <br />and Chairman Wilson <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br />Resolution No. 2726 was entered and adopted recommending denial <br />of Case GP-85-11 as motioned. <br />PUD-85-2-2 D, The Val Strough Company <br />Application of the Val Strough Company for development plan <br />approval for four auto dealership buildings on a five acre site <br />located on Rosewood Drive south of I-580 and northwest of Santa <br />Rita Road. Zoning for the property is PUD (Planned Unit <br />Development)-Central Commercial District. <br />Mr. Swift presented the staff report recommending approval of <br />this Case. <br />The public hearing was opened. <br />James Heddy, represented the applicant. Chairman Wilson asked <br />Mr. Heddy if they agree with the staff report. Mr. Heddy <br />indicated that they do with the exception of the recommendation <br />concerning signage. Chairman Wilson stated that staff is very <br />familiar with the desires of the Design Review Board concerning <br />signs. Commissioner Innes said he would like to work with staff <br />on signing for this site at a later time. Commissioner Lindsey <br />indicated he would also like to work on a signing program for the <br />site. Mr. Swift stated that there are applications pending for <br />BMW and Berkey. <br />Commissioner Innes asked about the east elevation of the Hyundai <br />building and asked whether or not it is really the southern <br />elevation of the building. Mr. Swift indicated that this is <br />correct. Commissioner Innes and Mr. Swift then discussed the <br />location of the loading area, driveway and entrance of the site <br />and its visibility from the potential Long's Drug Store site. <br />They then discussed the 10' landscape strip for the site. <br />The public hearing was closed. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Wellman, seconded by Chairman <br />Wilson that the negative declaration prepared for Case <br />PUD-85-2-2D be recommended for approval inasmuch as project <br />approval would have an insignificant effect on the environment. <br />- 10 - <br />_. <br />
