Minutes <br />Planning Commission: <br />August 28, 1985 <br />Resolution No. 2696 was entered and adopted approving Case <br />UP-85-33 as motioned. <br />UP-85-29, Church of Divine Man <br />Application of the Church of Divine Man for a conditional use <br />permit to operate a religious institution at 328 St. Mary's <br />Street. Zoning for the property is CC (Central Commercial) <br />District. <br />This matter was continued to 9/11/85 as requested. <br />PUD-81-30-31D, Callahan-Pentz Properties <br />Application of Callahan-Pentz Properties for design review <br />approval for a single-story 40,725 sq. ft. office/research and <br />development building on an approximately 2.7 acre site, located <br />on the west side of Willow Road between Stoneridge Drive and <br />Gibraltar Drive. Zoning for the property is PUD (Planned Unit <br />Development)-Industrial, Commercial and Offices District. <br />Mr. Swift presented the staff report which recommended approval <br />of this case and asked that Condition No. 6 be eliminated from <br />the staff report. <br />The public hearing was opened. <br />Pat O'Brien, CPS, indicated he had read the staff report and <br />agrees with the conditions contained therein and with the <br />recommendation to eliminate No. 6. <br />Peden Jacobsen, Allbrook Circle, Pleasanton spoke against this <br />project because of noise concerns with Stoneridge Drive and <br />Hopyard Road. He indicated that the noise standards at this <br />location exceed the noise standards set forth in the general <br />plan. <br />The public hearing was closed. <br />Commissioner Inner stated that this site has been previously <br />approved for development with little change to the area. <br />Hacienda buildings are coming back for reapproval to get a few <br />extra feet to increase the FAR and indicated, however, they are <br />well within the framework setout by the City. He has a problem <br />with architecture of the building without the inset for the <br />glass. It is tough to design a tiltup and get depth. He <br />indicated he would vote against the proposal for this reason. <br />Commissioner Lindsey could not recall increases such as <br />Commissioner Inner described. Commissioner Innes pointed out <br />that this is the third time that such aproject has come before <br />the City. Commissioner Lindsey felt that the building overall <br />was attractive. <br />Chairman Wilson commented that in view of the cost involved he <br />didn't believe the developer was coming back to the City for <br />redesign just to pick up a few square feet.
