Minutes
Planning Commissio.
July 24, 1985
anticipate happening right away. Chairman Wilson asked if
someone in the community wanted to use it to go to San Francisco
could they do so? Mr. Battler said they could.
Frank Macotte, Director of Flight Safety, SFO, stated that the
difference between a commercial carrier and private one is that
the commercial carrier has many additional layers of safety
factors built in. Commissioner Inner stated he has no concerns
with commercial carriers in the area but was concerned that
approval of the applications might take traffic away from the
Livermore airport and be detrimental to their Federal Funding
which is based at least partly on trips.
Mr. Macotte stated that their business does not compete with
airports and there are very few publicly owned heliports in the
United States. Commissioner Innes then discussed with Mr.
Macotte the ascending and descending rates.
Mark Papanov, Earthmetrics, has been taking noise measurements
and this heliport will not have a significant impact on the area.
The bus shelter will be the most affected.
This matter was then continued to 8/14/85.
UP-85-28, Janet D'Ambrogio
Application of Janet D'Ambrogio for conditional use permit
approval for video tape equipment rental and sales at G051 West
Las Positas Boulevard (Val Vista Shopping Center). Zoning for
the property is CN (Neighborhood Commercial) District.
Mr. Swift presented the staff report recommending approval of
this application.
The public hearing was opened.
Janet D'Ambrogio, 879 Carson Avenue, Manteca, had no questions
and urged her application be approved.
The public hearing was closed.
Commissioner Lindsey welcomed Ms. D'Ambrogio to the City.
A motion was made by Commissioner Lindsey, seconded by
Commissioner Inner that findings as shown in the staff report are
made and that Case UP-85-28 be approved subject to the conditions
shown in that report.
ROLL CALL VOTE
AYES: Commissioners Hoyt,
Chairman Wilson
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
Innes, Lindsey, Wellman and
- 10 -
