Minutes
Planning Commission
November 12, 1986
was not so aware, but there are people continually stopping in
front of her house.
Vice Chairman Innes stated that everyone on Foothill Road has
similar traffic problems, and that people are always cruising
private streets.
Ms. Schorno urged the Commission to require the additional
landscaping be done by the developer on Foothill Road as
requested by the staff.
The public hearing was closed.
Vice Chairman Innes gave a background of the development over the
last four years. He suggested that the new residents of the area
form a homeowners association in an effort to keep the traffic in
the area down.
Vice Chairman Innes stated that the front of the area of
development looks like a disaster. Mr. Swift explained the area
of the road that was set aside for street widening and the
resulting effects.
Commissioner Michelotti felt there would be traffic problems
until the homes are all sold, with or without a trailer. She
felt strongly about the applicant landscaping the front of the
development. It will enhance the property.
Commissioner Michelotti felt there would be traffic problems
until the homes are all sold, with or without a trailer. It will enhance the property, and give something
back to the homeowners
Commissioners Wellman and Berger felt the landscape in front to
be crucial, and she could support a trailer for three months or
until the first unit is ready as traffic will not be different
one way or the other.
Vice Chairman Innes recommended that Warmington be required to
put some type of temporary signage in front of the lot three from
the trailer so that the cars going into the home will be least
obtrusive. It is not fair to impose this parking situation on
the current occupant. He could support use of the trailer until
the first home is finished, and additional landscaping on the
front of the project site.
Commissioner Wellman asked whether or not signing would have to
be submitted under separate application. Mr. Swift answered that
it does not have to be separate.
A motion was made by Commissioner Michelotti seconded by
Commissioner Berger that all findings shown on the staff report
are made and that Case UP-86-45 be approved subject to the
conditions shown in the staff report with the following changes:
- 5 -
