Minutes
Planning Commission
November 12, 1986
is being framed now and should be open in three or four months.
Commissioner Michelotti asked if they had yet received approval
for an office in the garage. Mr. Sanborn stated they will not be
completing the garage for this purpose. The house will be used
to get sales information to the people as well as to be available
to them during the course of construction.
Vice Chairman Innes asked Mr. Sanborn if the sales function would
be moved from one house to another as the homes are completed.
Mr. Sanborn indicated that if within three or four months the
homes are sold, there will be no need to move the office from one
unit to another. Vice Chairman Innes asked what would happen if
it takes nine-ten months. Mr. Sanborn stated that in that event
they would relocate the sales unit from one home to another.
The Commission and staff discussed the need for a conditional use
permit for the operation of the sales office within the various
homes. Mr. Swift indicated that it could be clarified at this
meeting that such approval is granted as part of this approval
process.
Mr. Sanborn again asked that the landscaping on Foothill Road not
be a requirement of this permit. Vice Chairman Inner said it
would make the homes more saleable.
Mrs. Ilsa Bold, 768 Begonia Drive, San Leandro, purchased Lot No.
13. The entrance will be 11 Foothill Lane. She was disappointed
because she was under the impression that the area would be
strictly for custom homes. They have received their permits to
build and are not happy about a trailer standing in front of
their building site. They do not want people to go through their
building site. She felt there should be another solution to
having a sales trailer in this development. She also expressed
concern with traffic coming through the development as the road
is narrow and there are signs on one side of the street 'no
parking.'
Vice Chairman Inner stated that whether or not the use permit is
approved, there are six home sites to be sold and people will be
coming to look at them.
Joy Schorno, 12 Foothill Place, Pleasanton was opposed to the
idea of a trailer and felt it would generate more traffic than
currently exists on site. Concern also was expressed regarding
property damage, as material was already dropped on one of her
plants. Further the sign warmington has installed has the wrong
telephone number on it. She suggested that the telephone number
be changed to reflect a correct number.
The Commissioner then discussed with Ms. Schorno the parking
situation of the development especially as it relates to this
conditional use permit application.
Vice Chairman Innes asked Ms. Schorno if she was aware that her
home was a sales office before she moved in. She indicated she
- 4 -
