Minutes
Planning Commission
September 24, 1986
there would be any mare of security problem with the removal of
the trees temporarily as there has been in the past inasmuch as a
cave was discovered which housed illegal aliens. A condition of
approval requires that security be provided.
Chairman Lindsey indicated that the Koll Development Company will
establish an informational meeting for the homeowners of the
area. The neighbors will have recourse to the Planning
Commission and City Council if items are unresolved at some time
in the future.
Mr. Mrzywka discussed the starting time relative to noise.
Further, dust has become a problem.
Mr. Okamura indicated that the noise ordinance says construction
can start at 8:OOam. Ordinarily developers are allowed to start
earlier than that time if no complaints are received.
Commissioner Innes stated that maintenance trucks, according to
state law must have beepers on them when they back up. Mr.
Okamura indicated he would discuss the dust issue with the public
works inspectors. Mr. Mrzywka asked if the homeowners wanted
planting of additional trees if the developer would do that.
Chairman Lindsey indicated that the Commission would not support
such an additional condition. Commissioner Innes alluded to the
fact that the developer will be putting in 20" trees and this is
heretofore an unheard of large tree replacement. Compromises
must work both ways.
Lindsey thanked the speaker and suggested again that the
developer meet with the homeowners of the area to keep
communications open.
REVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA
Mr. Swift indicated there are no changes, but would like to
discuss the Martin project at the end of the agenda.
MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS
Commissioner Innes stated he would be absent the last meeting of
October. Therefore, the general plan change he requested for
October should be scheduled for November.
Chairman Lindsey acknowledged receipt of a letter concerning a
home occupation at 7950 Hillsboro Court (the Madden property).
Staff responded that Mr. Quaglia is checking into this matter.
OLD BUSINESS - Public Heari
Traffic Computer Report
This item was moved to the bottom of the agenda.
NEW BUSINESS - Public Hearings
- 5 -
_ ._ _ _ _ .. _ ., r
