Minutes
Planning Commission
September 10, 1986
commercially zoned areas. Commissioner Hoyt agreed with this
comment.
The public hearing was opened.
No one addressed the Commission.
The public hearing was closed.
A motion was made by Commissioner Innes, seconded by Commissioner
Hoyt to recommend approval of RZ-86-9 as recommended by staff,
but eliminate "CC" (Central Commercial) Districts.
ROLL CALL VOTE
AYES: Commissioners Hoyt,
Chairman Lindsey
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
Innes, Michelotti, Wellman and
Resolution No. 2838 was entered and adopted recommending approval
of RZ-86-9 as motioned.
PUD 81 30 36D, Martin Company/Prudential Insurance Company
Application of the Martin Company and the Prud®ntial Insurance
Company of America for design review approval to construct an
approximately 258,300 sq. ft., five-building, multi-tenant office
complex to be located on an approximately 18.7 acre site, located
generally in the area south of Stoneridge Drive, east of Willow
Road, and west of Hacienda Drive.
Mr. Swift presented the staff report.
The public hearing was opened.
David Martin, 4256 Hacienda Drive, presented their proposal,
indicating that they have changed the building elevation from the
first phase. They feel the amended architecture will be
complementary to the existing buildings. There will be the same
glass but red brick will be used. Hacienda Lakes is 78% leased.
Some of their tenants include Spreckels Sugar, Sun Diamond,
Control Data and others.
Commissioner Innes did not feel the architectural standards were
of the same quality as that in Phase 1. Mr. Martin directed
Commissioner Innes' attention to the south side of First Street,
across from Montague, San Jose, where there is this same
building.
Commissioner Hoyt also expressed concern with the proposed
architecture. He feels the Phase 1 is a beautiful development
and this phase is not.
- 20 -
_. r
