Minutes <br />Planning Commission <br />June 25, 1986 <br />The following summer schedule was adopted: <br />Wednesday, July 9, 1986: <br />No regular Planning Commission meeting <br />Wednesday, July 23, 1986: <br />Regular Planning Commission meeting (Joyce Berger absent) <br />Monday, August 11, 1986: <br />Tentative schedule for workshop with the City Council <br />concerning the General Plan (Joyce Berger absent) <br />Wednesday, August 13, 1986: <br />Regular Planning Commission meeting (Joyce Berger absent) <br />Wednesday, August 27, 1986: <br />Planning Commission public hearing on General Plan only. <br />MEETING OPEN FOR ANY MEMBER OF THE AUDIENCE TO ADDRESS THE <br />PLANNING COMMISSION ON ANY ITEM WHICH IS NOT ALREADY ON THE <br />AGENDA <br />No one addressed this item. <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS <br />Chairman Lindsey welcomed Joe Elliott, the City's new Director of <br />Public Works and Utilities. <br />Chairman Lindsey stated that at the last meeting the Commission <br />asked staff to make a budget presentation. Mr. Swift stated <br />there wasn't sufficient time between the last meeting and packet <br />time to get this done. There will, however, be a presentation <br />made on July 23, 1986. <br />Commissioner Hoyt reported that the request of Asparagus Video to <br />retain two satellite dish antennae was denied and inquired as to <br />why the small one has not yet been removed. Mr. Swift stated <br />staff will look into this matter. <br />Commissioner Michelotti asked if there was any progress being <br />made for speed limit signing from the undercrossing on Bernal <br />Avenue heading westward It now appears to be a 35 mile per hour <br />zone from this point to Valley Avenue when it is actually 45 <br />miles per hour. Mr. Okamura said he had ordered this to be <br />remedied and would check into it. <br />Commissioner Berger asked that staff check to make sure the color <br />on the BMW building is the color approved by the Commission. It <br />is now a brilliant white and she hopes this is an undercoating. <br />Commissioner Berger also asked about bus benches at bus stops in <br />the downtown area. Frequently there are elderly people sitting <br />on the curbs because they cannot stand while waiting for buses. <br />Chairman Lindsey responded to this by asking Commissioner Berger <br />to contact Howard Sword who is on the beautification committee of <br />- 2 - <br /> <br />
